The Designer:

Cara Blaire Wasserstrom is a New York City and Philadelphia-based interior designer with more than seven years of experience in the interiors space. A proud alumna of the University of Chicago where she studied Classical Languages and Art History, Cara first set out on a postgraduate path towards a career in medicine. While studying for medical school qualification exams, Cara found herself spending all of her spare time looking at furniture and realized that her true passion was in interiors and quickly shifted to pursue a career in design.

Cara was soon accepted to the New York School of Interior Design (NYSID) where she obtained a Masters in Fine Art (MFA) in Interior Design. She has since worked for renowned design and architectural firms including Peter Pennoyer Architects, David Kleinberg Design Associates, and most recently, Julie Hillman Design. Through her experience at these firms, Cara has honed her skills and is now accepting new clients exclusively through CBW Interiors.

The Work:

The essence of CBW Interiors starts with Cara listening to each client’s story - about themselves, their home, where they’ve been and where they want to go. Those stories serve as her inspiration as she collaborates with the client to masterfully create a home that is a distinct expression of the client’s own identity and is a perfect marriage to the architecture of their space. Cara’s expertise spans the full home design process - from selecting hard finishes like paint and flooring and designing the layout of each room to choosing furnishings and styling each space with an unmatched level of thoughtful detail. When Cara opens the door for you after installation, the goal is for you to feel not only that the space is yours, but that it is you.
